BOURBON PEACH LEMONADE
This may be the first cocktail I ever had, and it's been a reliable classic since. In a season that's mostly full of gin, vodka, and rum, this is a great summertime bourbon recipe that's perfect for warm weekend nights.
Prep time: 20 minutes
Makes 1 cocktail
Ingredients:
2 oz bourbon
1 oz peach puree
1 oz lemon juice
3/4-1 oz simple syrup (to taste, I go with 3/4)
Lemon twist for garnish
Instructions:
1.) To make your simple syrup, combine equal parts sugar and water on the stove (1/2 a cup of each will be more than enough for this recipe) and heat on medium, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
2.) Add bourbon, peach puree, simple syrup, and lemon juice to your shaker and fill it with ice. Shake vigorously for 10-15 seconds or until the shaker feels really cold. Strain over fresh ice in a glass of your choice and garnish with a lemon twist, or even a slice of peach if you're feeling extra special. Enjoy.
